Basic hotel in good location tram stop right outside takes you direct to city centre. 
Rooms were adequate with decent shower but got savaged by bed bugs in room 2. 
Emailed hotel but no response. Shame as staff were nice
Budget hotel at budget price. Lesson learned!!

Bed bugs

Extremely frosty reception and little if not any assistance or help offered. Room was barely ok and a little smelly. Out of the way location so sleep was at least possible, be it tiny beds! I think at this price point there are other properties I’d prefer. Safe didn’t work!

A smile would be nice!

The hotel is modest, but clean and cozy. The room is small, overlooking a garden, so it's quiet. It's equipped with everything necessary and also the boiler. The bathroom is a bit old, but it's still suitable for those who spend just one night in Amsterdam. The main advantage of the hotel is that you can walk to the center, in about twenty minutes. If you want, the wonderful tram 14 passes in front of you.

The room is tiny and dark.Even  in broad daylight, you will need to turn the light on.  I  find it difficult to breathe without turning on air con. The air con is in a strange position. When you turn it on, it blows right in your face. Hair dryer in the room doesn’t work either. I will not recommend this place for anyone

Bad value for money and poor service

We just had a nice stay at this hotel. It is quite well located near the historic center. The rooms are small, but they are clean and well maintained. Their price is reasonable for the city. The staff at the reception are rather hospitable. We will gladly return there.

A pleasant stay

Just the ideal place for us to stay- we could walk into the centre of town within 20  minutes but also on the number 14 tram line if wanted to use it instead. Away from the busy city centre. Very clean and reasonably priced accommodation. Staff very attentive and welcoming. 

Very welcoming and ideally situated.

This was a basic enough hotel and it was a good price compared to other places. We walked into the city each day which took 20 minutes. Next door to a little supermarket shop. A few local restaurants right around the corner. Not situated in a “tourist” or central area but near the Zoo. 

Rooms were quite small but not tiny. Kettle and tea/coffee facilities. Shower was amazing. Bathroom quite small. We were luckily on the ground floor. Always someone on reception but we never needed assistance.

Don’t think I would stay here again because of distance but we had a nice time.

Basic hotel 20 minute walk from the city

The staff were friendly and the hotel itself was clean.
The hotel infrastructure was tired and resembled student accommodation.
We were in Room 43. We were unable to sit up in bed as the sloping ceiling came low into the room. The bathroom was clean, but we were unable to use the shower as there was no shower shield. The bath was also problematic as the plug did not fit properly and the bath emptied as soon as it filled.
Despite the friendly staff, I’m struggling to see how the hotel is deserving of a three star rating.
In my opinion, a Trip Advisor rating of Average/Poor is appropriate.

Not sure about three ⭐️⭐️⭐️

A brilliant affordable tourist hotel. We stayed in room 42  which was a nice room. The staff at the reception were lovely (especially the lovely women from Ecuador)  and it felt very safe. The location is amazing, right outside Artis tram station which gives a 10 min ride to Amsterdam centraal. A very good stay, although we weren’t there much !

Amazing stay

The staff were pleasant enough, but the rooms were very tired and shabby looking. The photos on their website are in no way reflective of the current condition. The in room facilities were poor, including only disposable paper cups for making a hot drink. I was also disturbed by regular noise from the hallway and footsteps on the ceiling above me, well into the night. I asked to be moved to a different room and the staff were happy to do that. However the new room was identical and had the same issues. In the end, I checked out and moved to a new hotel for the remainder of my stay in Amsterdam.
