A hotel that doesn't meet the expectations of a five star hotel, especially rooms that aren't up to par. The club is very poor and uncomfortable. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is also not very simple.

Furniture is old, not old, no slippers, the question is where are the five stars, the slow and unkind personal.

Of course, if you want a luxurious stay in the lobby.

Came here to dine, and was immediately struck by the grand old style lobby area. The dining room was fine. Colleagues stayed here and reported that the rooms did not live up to the promise of the  lobby area.

Old style

A well-located hotel, next to new ministries, with a subway stop a few steps away, a very complete hotel, personal attention, good cuisine, a reasonable price, in its lobby you see people from the world of art and politics pass by.

The personnel at the reception front desk are very polite and accommodating.The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean.There is no tea/coffee in the room. The room does not have an iron and I could blow harder than the hair dryer that was supplied.
On arrival you are given x1 bottle mineral water per room -not per person and this is on arrival only.
There is no swimming pool-but it has an underground spa which you pay for.
The meals were fantastic-but be warned the Maitre D is watching and hovering and will confront you in front of a whole restuarant and accuse you of taking a piece of fruit out of the restaurant.you have to sit like naughty school children and eat your fruit in the dining area.
The hotel is within walking distance of tourist attractions and shopping malls and public transport.
I would stay again but they need to sort the Maitre D .

peaceful inner city haven

I was a little scared after reading the reviews published on Tripadvisor, but the hotel surprised me pleasantly. It is a classic of Madrid, with excellent staff care and a 5-star level of facilities. The check-in was quick, the buttons help you with the bags even though in my case it was not necessary. They respected my preference to choose a room with views of the Castellana, which is appreciated. My room was refurbished, quiet (fundamental for rest). Beyond the fact that it was certain that aspects to be improved, everything was in order.

It was a sensational experience.

Exceptional, all I can say is little, good situation, good gastronomy and the staff of ten, thank you very much, we have managed to have a spectacular weekend.

Marta Habitación 740 is located in the city of Santa Cruz.

Stayed for 2 nights. Very accessible to the Metro. Gregario Marano Stop is right out the front door. Took about a half hour to walk into the centre of Madrid. We like to walk so it was perfect for us. Also the 150 Bus which cost 150Euro is right out side on the corner. It does a loop to down town & back. Very easy. 
The Hotel Staff were Friendly Efficient and extremely helpful. We had one minor glitch with the shower but when we told them it was fixed within no time at all. There are plenty of restaurants, Bars, Cafes, Bakeries, Grocery shops in the immediate area so there is no shortage of things to do. The Hotel room has dark wood which gives it that Old World Charm. Everything was spotless. The bathroom is all Marble and also spotless.

European Old World Charm

It has been a nice staying. The location is good, fairly close to main touristic places. The pesonnel of the hotel has easily satisfied my small requests. The hotel is fully suitable for shabbat. A good place to stay!

Fully available personnel

stayed for one night on business & managed to wangle an executive room. This has a separate check-in with free food and drink!
Good size main room & bathroom. Furnishings are dark wood, so far from contemporary but in keeping with the tradition.
Sleep came easy as the room provided the three things I need for a good nights sleep: Dark room care of additional black-out blinds, comfy bed and very quiet.
buffet breakfast was also very good
