In the heart of the old town of Ciudadela is the hotel El Claustro de Ciudadela, a place where one breathes peace and clamour, whose initial management corresponds to the guest. It has expansion spaces for the guest as a simple and retro dining room. A picturesque place that breaks its silences, with the bustle of the market, which belonged to this convent, and the bars and restaurants, such as the Ulises, of the Plaza del Mercado. Its location is ideal for enjoying the magical life of the small town of Ciudadela, around the 30,600 inhabitants.

In search of a pleasant tranquility....

Last minute reservation for five exhausted cyclists, rudimentary but functional rooms, a midnight reception with phone orders, a beautiful, religious place dominating the morning market, simplicity and efficiency.

Monastic stage

I was positively surprised. I had a room with two beds and a private bathroom. The room was very clean. The structure itself is very centrally located, which is a very positive aspect and the whole monastery is phenomenal. The only negative is the thin walls, which means that if you're lucky and the neighboring rooms are occupied, there's no privacy and the noise from the neighboring room can be quite disturbing.

Better than I thought

As all the posts comment, the site is excellent in terms of location, but because it is a recent hotel, it needs an urgent renovation. There is no air conditioning, something indispensable in July-August; and the ventilator was very old. Just for sleeping and dining. The bathroom is also very old, and it is not possible to have breakfast. The dining area allows you to sit if you bring your food but everything is very archaic. The room would also need its own refrigerator instead of a community room. It is also very sad that there is no one at the reception, not only in a concrete strip, and the time of the cleaning has to be done by the guest entrance, please, the very kind lady. The price is too clear for what they offer, but Menorca always takes advantage of it.

Holidays with family.

A beautiful setting, an old cloister with a large terrace, very pleasant. This is for the positive... a very brief room, for the price we expected a little better. No air conditioning, so it is impossible to sleep at night... No one is welcome... so I strongly advise those who do not speak Spanish. In short, to avoid.

It's nice from the outside, but it's nice from the inside.

The hostel is located on the top floor (those below are occupied by religious) and the terrace of the cloister is really breathtaking. The problem is that you are totally abandoned to yourself: 1) on arrival there is no one to check in; a series of numbers on the door are the only contact with the managers. By phone they give access code and room number. 2) very small but pretty rooms. Those facing the market are above the refrigerators of the butchers (a bar where you get used to), while those on the cloister have windows right on the passage. 3) Check in consistently in a self-declaration sheet on which to appoint the number of the document. 4) Every afternoon a live incident is reflected in the room.

Ghost hostel

I have to comment that I feel cheated by the agency, hire a hotel and be sent to a hostel or similar.The room with the dirty walls, no headrests, the dirty shower curtain, the small and old screen, almost never seen, because they put it almost on the ceiling, the tulip of the night lamp does not know if it is white or yellow. the noisy, dirty and rusty fan, gives a very bad impression. when you enter the hostel it smells very bad I think it is because of the humidity.

No me apetece volver

The room is basic but for the price (compared to other hotels etc on the island) it is perfect. The location is really what makes this hostel/hotel great as you are in the heart of the city centre and can easily reach lots of beaches by short bus journeys. Many restaurants and cafes all around as well as plenty of shopping to be done! 
The accommodation is kept extremely clean with the rooms being attended to every day. The towels, however, are not the best quality- in fact, were rather rough.
The only downside is there is no kitchen. Cooking facilities would have been a nice addition. Overall I would stay again!

Beautiful Location!!!

The price of the hotel (more than 100 euros a night in August) is excessively expensive compared to the quality of the service offered. The comfort of the rooms is very brief, but it is true that the hotel is very well located and the building has a real seal.

Poor quality/price ratio

We stayed in this hostel for about a week starting from the positive things I can say that the location is really good. The cloister is located inside a monastery located in the old center of Ciutadella, the road and always sharp and provided with everything you need. The rental is essential, maybe a little too much, so much so that we have no air conditioners so that in seven days we suffered the heat in a hallucinatory way and only an old fan was available. The cleaning of the room makes you want as well as the refrigerator in common with the rest of the guests (full of marshes and hair).
