Very disappointed.
Room was not at all clean, had cobwebs with dust on them in the corners, the curtains were dusty as was the wooden floor.  Didn't want to check under the beds.  The shower room was so small, the sink was in the bedroom itself.  The plug in the sink stuck, so had to release it with a nail file.
The beds were so uncomfortable and noisy every time you turned over and moved across the wooden floor when you say on them.
Aged hotel with poor cleanliness.
Only good thing was free parking for the following day!


Disappointed and dirty **Avoid""

Tired, shabby rooms with uncomfortable beds, thin curtains and stained worn carpets. 
I couldn't bring myself to get in the shower. Had to hold the loo flush down to get it to work.  Appalling nights sleep as the drunk person upstairs either fell out of bed, or dropped the bottle on the floor and shook the building and the road noise was awful. No receptionist, keys left with our names on the keys on hooks behind the desk, and a number to call to get a key to let yourself in on a key safe outside. Hideous experience altogether, I've never stayed anywhere quite to uncaring and run down. 
I can say that the sheets on the bed were clean, but that's it. Avoid this place

Avoid this run down, uncaring guest house

We stayed overnight at the Varsity hotel.  A fantastic location right on the Camb where all the punts go out. It was the perfect place in the heart of Cambridge for an overnighter, or a longer stay. The rooms were very good.  Bathroom small but everything was lovely and clean. The rooftop bar was the most lively and lovely place to watch the sun setting whilst sipping a cocktail. Service was good and the reception staff were the best.  Very friendly, helpful and accommodating allowing us to drop our bags off at 9.30 a.m. 
I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would stay here again without hesitation.

What could be better than Cambridge in the summer?

Bridge Guest House  Three-storey accommodation. Nice staff, free parking, garden available. Room clean, large enough, a bit old but well equipped (tea, cafe, hot water boiler, towels, shower gel, shampoo...). Unfortunately no elevator. About 20 minutes walk from the centre. It pays to park here to save the parking fee and walk to the city centre.

We stayed here at bank holiday. Stayed in room 7 which was large enough for 3 people. Furniture was very dated but the room was clean and bed very comfortable. Ideally situated for walking into town with private parking available on the front. Would definitely recommend this guest house 

No breakfast 

Stayed in bridge guest house bank holiday weekend. Had a lovely large room and bathroom. The room was very clean with a very comfortable bed and a lovely hot shower    Location was great 
And the staff were brilliant 
I definitely will be returning on my next trip to this beautiful town

Great guest house great location

Me and my friend booked a twin room for two nights. We were provided room 7 which had a pull out bed and double bed. The room was dated, scruffy and rundown. Stains on the bedding. Curtains had holes in them. Punch hole in the bathroom door. Worst of all we didn't sleep a wink. Both our beds were uncomfortable hard and squeaky. The worst sleep I've ever experienced. In the morning about 9.30am we made our complaint. 

The manager was still asleep and came out in her dressing gown. We were made to feel like we had interrupted her lie in!!!! We advised we couldn't stay in room 7 again. She kept saying no one has complained before. (they must not read their own reviews)
She came back 20 mins later (still not dressed) and swapped our room for room 12. We were told that room 7 was an upgrade for us and their best room. That was quite a shocking statement I would hate to see the rest of the BNB. 

The beds were better however I think because the others were so bad my judgement was off a little. The room looked brighter but was still rundown. Bed side lamps did not work. Dust and dirt in the bathroom. Broken wardrobe. The bathroom has a handmade looking slide door which had a big gap filled with a draft excluder to stop you being able to look in. (Very weird) 
We checked out at 10.30 as requested and had to call for the manager. Once again she was in her dressing gown. 

This was probably the worst BNB I have experienced. It's only positive was its location to the city. However if I had my time again I would pay more for a better place or book something further away then visit this BNB again. Perhaps this place is for workers. It had no charm appeal or customer care in place. Not a place for tourists.

Worst sleep. Run down.Avoid at all costs

The Bridge Guest House is a cheap option for staying near Cambridge.  It's convenient for the station, if that is how you travel, but parking (while advertised) is limited.  The carpark required rearrangement before I could find a space.  

The decor internally is very dated and shabby.  Carpets are in decent condition but the furniture is well past its best.  

I found my room very cramped, to the point that moving around required a degree of athleticism, clambering around the furniture.  I couldn't open the bathroom door fully because there was a table in the way; and the shower all but overhung the toilet.

That said, it is cheap and you get what you pay for, particularly in a busy town like Cambridge.

This is a tired and dated property in serious need of refurbishment.  On the plus side, it is in a good location and has parking, albeit limited.  The station is near and it is only 15/20 min walk to the centre of town.  The room was clean and the linen crisp.

However........
The furnishings are well past their use by date and the decoration ghastly.  Our matress was worn and knackered resulting in an awful night's sleep.  Breakfast as a £5.00 add on might seem a good idea.  It isn't.  Flabby toast, 'coffee' of indeterminate origin and poached eggs that had a solid yoke and raw white.  How do you achieve that?

All in all, pretty substandard and poor value for money.

Room we were in was a good size, guest house is near the railway station and the junction if you want to see a band.

Arrived and asked about breakfast which was clearly advertised as an extra when booking only to be told you cant have breakfast in the morning as there are not enough staff to cover it!!!! If you are not going to be able to serve breakfast then put it on your website so i can book somewhere else. I think i may have got about 2 hours sleep as the bed that i was in had a worn out mattress and no matter where you laid the springs poked into you to remind you that you should have booked somewhere else, if the management or owners read this i wont be offended if you put half my payment back into my account because i havnt had what i paid for.......wont be coming back.
