We came for Hogmanay, stayed 2 nights and had dinner and breakfast. Very good value for money on the food and drink, nice service. Lovely and comfortable room, really clean and slept well. Would absolutely recommend and stay here again. Location was fantastic too and walking distance from the main areas of Edinburgh. 

Very nice hotel

It is a tradition that my wife and I stay overnight for the following: a nearby restaurant followed by a show at the Edinburgh Playhouse Theatre. We have tried to book this hotel before. Very happy that we did stay here. Close proximity to the Theatre and restaurants 

Christmas Sleepover

Special birthday, late train arrival 9:30pm on 21st , they acknowledged my special birthday with lovely breakfast! Staff lovely people, room clean , -1 floor , super quiet , very warm which in the December cold wasn’t an issue. Needed some ice as my mother had slipped whilst out , provided a huge jug. Polite and courteous xx

Birthday 48 hours

We stayed at the York Street PI in a Premier room during the run up to Christmas. Judging by the lack of noise during the night we assumed the hotel to be empty so was surprised to see how many guests were at breakfast the next morning.  They either have well behaved guests or superb noise cancelling materials in the build.  Room was lovely and clean, spacious and comfortable with a couple of lovely touches like free bottled water, chocolates and Nespresso coffee machine. View from our room was nothing special but that didn’t impact on our stay.  Well located for Waverley Train Station and a couple of car parks close by. I have to complement the staff who were all attentive, friendly and always busy. Special to Junior who was a credit to PI, from working the bar, restaurant, fixing the coffee machines, mixing the best cocktails, he was just a whirlwind of activity, with a friendly and helpful attitude at all time.

Room was clean, comfortable and quiet.
Junior at the front desk always had a smile on his face and was very welcoming. Meal deal is great value and means you don’t have to traipse around Edinburgh looking for somewhere to eat 

Great Location

Perfect hotel in all respects. Situational, calm, clean, personal. Everything was great, we had a very good stay in this hotel in the Premier Plus room. I recommend it 100%!!

It's just perfect!

The hotel occupies 6 beautiful Victorian houses, where you imagine Sherlock Holmes would stay. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is varied and abundant. The room, a little fair, but with everything you need to feel good.

Laura, one of the best employees I've ever met there, attentive, kind and professional! I recommend this hotel 100% he stayed very August. Good rooms, very comfortable bed, good reception and good restaurant!

An experience of 10!

Having stayed in a few Premier Inns over the years ,the consistency in providing an excellent and stress free stay is amazing.
This Premier Inn was no exception.
From checking in ,chatting to the bar person ,through breakfast, to checking out this was a very pleasant stay.

As per usual

I've stayed at various Premier Inn's over the years and have always been satisfied with my stays. This was my first time at this hotel and it was a mixed bag.

I'll start off with the positives. Value for money, got a really good price on the room. Location - perfectly located for all amenities, bus station, shopping, Playhouse. We didn't eat at the hotel as you're just across the road from the Omni centre which is filled with eateries.

But, the bad. Check in. We'd arrived in Edinburgh just after 11, went to the hotel to leave our luggage, which was fine. I know check in is now 3pm, but we went back at 2.50pm on the off chance we might get in a few minutes early. There were already 2 couples in front of us, so we thought we're not too early. When I spoke to the receptionist she said my twin room wasn't ready, but it wouldn't be long. I took a seat. By now everyone was arriving. The reception area is tiny and the queue was out the door. There are 2 self service machines but nobody was using them. Extra staff had to come from the back office to deal with checking everyone in.

After 20 minutes of being ignored, I asked again about my room. I was given my keys (no information about the hotel/restaurant times etc) But when I got to the room, it hadn't been made up as a twin, there was the double bed and the sofa bed. I moved the top of the sofa bed to see if there was extra bedding to make up the bed ourselves, but all I found was a full sized Versace perfume bottle.

As there was no phone in the room, I had to go back down to reception, join the back of the queue and wait another 20 minutes to be seen. I explained the situation and was told they would sort it out. To be fair, a very nice, friendly cleaner, came and made the bed up immediately. But all in all it was about an hour from entering the hotel to getting the room we actually paid for. And stress I wasn't expecting.

If I stayed again I'd know to avoid checking in until after 4pm (which isn't the handiest)
