The guy at reception was quite nice and stored our bags for us. The room for 3 was basic, but good. We kept the windows closed at night due to noise, so it did get warm in the room. The location was good, about an 8-minute walk to the metro. We had been warned that Cricklewood was a sketchy area, but we didn't experience any issues at all.

Inexpensive option that worked for us

Stayed here pre-COVID so when attending a concert at the O2 I booked to stay in again - price was incredibly fair, one of the cheapest hotels I found for the night. About an 11 minute walk from the nearest tube station or there is a bus available.

Check-in was quick and easy, receptionist was friendly. I booked a single room which was quite small but functional and extremely clean.

My only complaints would be the shower layout - if you lean too far back the shower switches off and the water pressure wasn't great. It was also really hot in London when I went, no fan or air con in the room and as I was on the ground floor I didn't want to leave my window open through the night. For London I found the room to be quite quiet but struggled to sleep due to the heat!

For the price I think it was a good stay and wouldn't be put off staying here again.

Good but hot!

Stayed here with my daughter on the 12th June 2023 for 3 nights, we stayed in room 17, the room was very clean, the bed was comfy, had a great sleep, the style of the room was so cozy and felt like I had gone back in time, it was amazing, the whole hotel was very nice and clean, the staff were friendly and polite, one of the best hotels we have stayed in, it was quiet at night and relaxing, restaurants and shops across the street, 10 minutes walk to train station, overall a perfect location, will definitely be returning again.

Amazing Hotel

Honestly, people need to understand you get what you paid for. Not a brilliant hotel by any means but for the price its mint. Class area and bossman across the street is a top guy. The bloke at the reception with the suit on made my weekend too.

Class Experience

Was due to travel down for work, however, sudden and unexpected immediate familial death meant compassionate leave from work. The website explained that exception is possible for refunds, so I submitted and called as soon as we knew. I explained in full and appealed to their empathy. With no quick answer, I called to be told by the member of staff that he wouldn’t expect management would actually consider it. Unsurprisingly, request was rejected with no proper or direct response from the Lodge. Disappointing experience, but judging from the reviews now I check to see whether anyone else had attempted to cancel, I’m seeing the wealth of horrendous stays. Having to take the loss financially and frustrating the staff didn’t even consider it under their own exception policy, but sounds likely a lucky escape.

Absence of Empathy Even Within Their Own Policy

I don't expect much from a budget hotel, but an acceptable mattress is a must. I woke up each morning in pain as it was like sleeping on bare springs. My room was not serviced by housekeeping once during my six night stay. I had one towel the entire stay. 

Most uncomfortable mattress ever

If you want to stop in a hotel with dirty stained carpets,pillows that are lumpy and a mattress that should have been disposed of years ago then stay here. Room is very dated  and shower poor flow.  Very noisy over the weekend we recently stayed there (23-25 September 22 )with the locals shouting and arguing until the early hours of the morning outside.Don’t expect  any sleep!
Will definitely not return although the location was good.

Very noisy

This hotel is filthy, bed sheets had not been washed from the previous people who had stayed, there were yellow stains all over the beds, and hair in it, it was that bad we didn't even sleep in the beds. Shower had not been cleaned it was black full of dirt and peoples hair all over it. We had a terrace next to our room but the door to it was broken and only opened a jar so couldn't even go on it. Plug socket didn't work so couldn't charge my phone. Curtains were hanging off the rails. And the best part is the receptionist gave us the wrong key to get into the hotel. So when we got back to the hotel at 1am after the Coldplay concert we were locked outside the hotel with the wrong keys, luckily somebody else that was staying there turned up and was able to let us in. There was no receptionist there at that time so if the other guests hadn't have turned up we would have been locked out on the streets all night. This is completely unacceptable and I cannot believe this hotel is even allowed to operate in these appalling filthy conditions. They should be ashamed

Disgusting, the owners should be ashamed

Arrived and hotel looked old and worn down! When we got here, we were told we needed ID which we were not told about during the booking process. I offered ID of family members which we had but they would not take it. They were very rude and did not tell us where to park and told us to ‘sort it ourselves’. All staff were very rude and would not recommend to anyone!

Shocking Service

me and my friend booked here for the Saturday just gone. we booked separately but as we travelled together checked in at the same time. I put my bags in my allocated room but my friend refused his as the window didn’t close securely. i returned to my room after the Coldplay concert to find that someone else was in there. I could not get into the room as I am guessing that they had the key in the other side, which was probably a blessing. They threatened to phone the police, because I think that they must have thought that I was trying to break in. I then went down to reception and was told that there had been a mix up and they gave me my bags that they had packed back up for me and was holding in reception and took me to a different room. I slept in the new room and it was the next morning when it dawned on me that this could be my friends room that he refused and sure enough when I checked the window did not lock and my friend also confirmed it. I wasn’t expecting much for the price paid in London but it is not acceptable to be placed in that situation and it could have been very different if it had escalated with neither myself or the people who were placed in my original room being at fault for any of this.
