I have stayed numerous times with my twins 3 times for 4 days each time in 2019 we love travelodge as my kids love coming to derry hope to get back this year after this crisis is over if rooms are available

Family holiday

The whole place is old and run down, although clean.  You have to buzz to be let in to the building which is a concern!  The room was large but just very old and run down.  There was no hot water when we arrived.  The staff were nice enough.  No bar area and no hot breakfast available.  For the price I would not recommend.

Would not recommend

basic room, outdated but all we wanted was somewhere cheap in the centre so did the job. Had booked a double and single bed but when Dawid met us at reception he offered us three single beds which we availed off and were thankful for. Dawid was very friendly and approachable. other lady was a little less approachable on our arrival but seemed friendly at checkout. the hotel also took care of our keys for us when we went out at night.

Basic but central and staff member Dawid was excellent

Stayed here last  night and found the hotel great clean and well situated in centre of the city.  I had a problem  with my booking  my own fault booked wrong  night but receptionist on duty  Stephen  sorted me out and did a great job. I will certainly  stay there again and thanks  again Stephen.

From strange checkin! You have to take a lift to the dark and strange smelling reception area. To the cracked tiles and silicone filled window in the bathroom!!! This hotel has only recently been converted into a hotel!! So basically is a new build! What shoddy workmanship, it’s dark smelly and decor is sparse. Breakfast not even continental standards.

ONLY positive is the location for exploring Derry it’s very central.

Stay here as a last result!!!!

AVOID!!  Not even a 1 star !!!

It so happened we stayed at a Travelodge hotel in the UK a few weeks ago and we were pretty impressed and decided to book this one in Derry which was in direct contrast to our expectations. Checked in for one night - and discovered the biggest s**thole in the country. Absolute disgrace to the Travelodge name and brand. The smell, the state of the toilets (my god.. silicone everywhere, water buildup, broken tiles and everything must be institu since the 1940's!), the stained worn carpets, furniture with broken handles and hinges ready for the dump.. and the most uncomfortable bed ever. The room had no heat whatsoever and when i went to ask for a heater.. the receptionist asked what the room number was so that he could switch the heat on. In other words you have to go to reception to activate the heat! It also seemed to us there were asylum seekers or students actually living there or something - alot of doors were half opened and loads of noisy people in the rooms. Its CHEAP FOR A REASON - any one star hostel would be better than this place - its the pits. NEVER AGAIN TRAVELODGE.

PS. The staff were nice and courteous - couldn't fault them.

Avoid Avoid Avoid - ABSOLUTE DUMP!

Travelodge Derry was in a great location with easy access to loads of the City Centre attractions. No parking on site but reasonably priced carpark just opposite. Odd entrance where you have to get into a lift to get to reception. Reception area was fairly cheerless but the single member of staff was polite and friendly. Another lift took us to the 3rd floor and we had a large room with basic decor and furniture was a bit dated/shabby. Not much of a view and the small older style windows had grills over them which obscured things further. Bathroom was small but clean though the sink was a bit 'crazed'. Extra towels were provided on a metal shelf above the loo but was far too high for me to reach. I had to ask for extras from reception. Beds again were clean but hard as a rock as were the pillows. I did not sleep well. There was a TV but it didn't have a full range of Freeview channels and volume was restricted so you couldn't turn it up too loud which is ok for anyone who doesn't have hearing loss like myself. Windows allowed the noise from street sweepers which sounded like they were in the area all night long. All in all it was value for money and very suitable for a one night stay which we were after. For a longer stay I'd be looking to upgrade especially if it meant getting a softer bed and quieter room.

Value for money

Whilst the overall cost was acceptable, I would still expect certain standards within the hotel. The reception staff on check weren't very friendly. The reception area was dark & gloomy. On arrival on the third floor there were bad smells from the corridors. The bedroom felt very sparse and under decorated. One of my windows was broken and covered up with plastic. The radiators clanked loudly in the middle of the night waking me up. The bathroom was dirty with a cup ring & what looked like a blood stain left on the sink side. Overall decor was poor with peeling paint & overall feeling of looking run down.

Definitely not my first choice of hotel in Derry

The cheapest hotel in the centre of Derry.the bed was comfortable and very clean with plenty of pillows.no noise from inside or out. I would recommend.needs updating deco wise but great for the price.

Excellent price and location

The staff were pleasant and that’s the only plus. Room had a broken window covered in cellophane and mould. Furniture looked it had been there since the 60s, damaged,scuffed with cigarette burns. Rusty radiator in bathroom. Wood in bathroom rotting under sink. Mould on ceiling above bath. Thick dust on ledges.. I could go on . So disappointed and not cheap at £70 for 1 person. Staff were apologetic and told me they were due an upgrade. In my opinion they are long overdue one and I sympathise with them having to work within these shabby conditions
